I always read Jordan Peterson quite generously. But the fact is, he’s just an extension of a quasi-libertarian sentiment within the New Right wherein diffusion of responsibility is more useful than collective action. The point I’m making is since he was able to get hooked on opioids — despite his own will — he should be as generous to the people he’s patronizing for not being up to par. If his literature didn’t inspire mass shootings, I’d be more courteous, but the man needs to be more honest about his own failings. His lack of earnest is sending men down an alt-right rabbit hole they may never recover from. He needs to own up to that before he moves along any further.
