I’m 100% in favor of supporting more stories created by people of color, but that’s beyond the scope of what the piece was trying to address. The issue here is less about the text of the fiction, and more about how there’s an active push to constrain the Witcher’s cultural affect to something that explicitly privileges a white audience over audiences of color. I love the Witcher, and I appreciated that there were people who look like me in the small screen adaptation — this article simply comes from a place of frustration at those who resent that excitement.
