From Razek’s perspective, conquering Riven of a Thousand Voices.

Things aren’t doing so hot in Britain right now–the country is weathering economic hardship under the austere grips of a conservative government as a shambled left struggles to reclaim power. To say that reckoning with Britain’s troubled past isn’t a priority, would be an understatement.

Razek is one such individual living through this turmoil. A young gay white man still running his trials through academia, he’s pacing his steps through the muddy trails of modern British life as best he could, even if stability is rather fleeting.

“I’m 22, unemployed. I live in this really small town next to the Port of Dover. I am currently studying general computing, and starting this September, I’m going to focus on web development and design,” he tells me. Why front-end development you might ask? As much as Razek enjoys the technicalities of programming, he relishes the creativity that languages like HTML and JavaScript allow him to pursue, unlike the blunt instruments that more sophisticated languages like C++ tend to be.
