That's a valid concern, but part of subsuming Big Tech into the public sector would be surrendering control of its assets to democratically-elected officials, so that if we have a grievance to take up with the institution, it merely demands the advent of a more savvy Congress rather than relying on the broken infrastructure of federal agencies to finally grow a spine and do what's right.

Right now, the average voter has basically no input over what these big behemoths are doing (and in the case of Prop 22 was duped into supporting them), so taking out the profit incentive would already do much to solve the problem.
